Cleaning the chicks brooder today and noticed some of their breast looking like this. What is going on? Pine shavings for bedding, water with antibiotic, chick feed, temp staying between 80-85. They are 9 days old. They seem happy. Very playful and moving well. Thanks for the help

Looks just fine to me! [IMG] One of my bantam Wheaten Ameraucanas also has been molting his down on his chest/tummy area, and he's perfectly normal otherwise. As long as they're doing typical chick-y things, I wouldn't be too terribly concerned. When one starts acting abnormal, that's when I would start to look things up. Your baby is adorable, by the way. When we had chicks they did that.

    Hope everything goes well!

You're so welcome! It's very good to be attentive and alert to small changes like that, so great job! [IMG] You're doing wonderfully.
