We have a chick that hatched around 2. 30 pm ( 30th of December). it keeps rolling sideways and ends up on his back, it looks like he is trying to scratch with his foot or maybe just trying to turn back around... it seems to be getting more often, even at night while his buddy is sleeping.... He can walk and his feet are normal. He seems fine except those weird side way somersaults and the chirping during.. Any help is appreciated.

I would add some poultry vitamins to the chicks' water in case of a vitamin deficiency or electrolyte problem. The symptoms sound neurological, and may be associate with hatching. Wry neck can be similar with walking in circles or backward, and twisting of the neck. SaveAChick vitamins with electrolytes are good, but Rooster Booster Vitamins with Lactobacillus or other brands in a container may be more economical. Here is an article about wry neck: http://www.browneggblueegg.com/Article/Crookneck/Crookneck.html

Thank you. It stopped doing it after the first night so I guess all is good now but I' ll check out the vitamins for future chicks.
Thank you
