How long should I leave my chicks on starter and what to I switch too?

I believe 18 weeks for starter. If you have layers then I would switch over to laying pellets or mash. I do this over a couple weeks time. Mixing more and more laying mash to the starter. I also start giving mine a little scratch at this time. [IMG]

I think it depends on exactly what you're using. Mine is Purina Start & Grow, so I can keep them on that until they start laying. Then switch to Layena. The instructions on the bag say to switch at 18 weeks.

If yours is Starter only, then you should switch to Grower. Does the bag give you some kind of instructions?

I get my food from Tractor Supply and on the bag it says Chick Starter through 10 weeks then Grower through 18 weeks then Layer.
