Just picked up 8 BLRWs, 4 are 4 weeks, 4 are 6 weeks. I am feeding them chick starter.

When can you add in treats and what works best?

Hi :) What is the reason to change from wood shavings to grit or sand once we start giving treats? is it ok to give our chicks treats in their normal bedding? Thanks!

I believe you just keep their regular wood shavings and just add a small dish of grit or sand when you start giving them treats. Then they have access to the grit when they need it. I just give it to them in a dish set on the pine bedding.
