Hi there,
I'm a new chick mama. My chicks are about 9 days old. I have one that had pasty butt and her vent was protruding. It had a red bubble on it which has since gone away. This happened the day I got them so it's been like that for 6 days. It is now just protruding. Not red or infected. She runs around, fights over weeds with the others, eats, drinks, poops. I have been keeping it clean, put vaseline on it, put prep h on it. I tried today with a q-tip to stick it back in, which worked but it popped right back out. Any suggestions? I had read something about them needing more muscle control to hold it in. Can I just wait a while and see if she gains more muscle control? She is a happy little chick right now.
