We hatched some chicks last night and one of them was born with a weird pocket where its vent should be. I dont know what to think about it and I dont know how to help it. Any ideas? Im afraid this poor thing will die.. [IMG]

Im not sure. It looks like it begins with skin attached, but it was stuck to the incubator by it, so I removed it and green liquid oozed out. It was disgusting. Any ideas?

That reminds me of my 18 year old using the term "donkey crevice".
I can't wait to see the look on the hubby's face when I share that one!

Quote:I'm sorry. That was pretty silly.
I have a silkie who had a funny looking vent, almost like an outey belly button. I just had to make sure it was clear so she could poop. She did get pasty butt a lot. She's fine now. My other chicks didn't have anything like that.

Quote:Aww hon I'm so sorry! Goodness gracious, the chick didn't suffer thats the important part. But what on earth was wrong with it? I noticed you never got an answer? Wonder if it was part of it's intestines?
