Chick with full hard crop

    I have a 3 1/2 week old Silver Grey Dorking chick that has a full hardish crop. She is big and healthy looking with more feathers than any of the other chicks. I am giving them chick grit along with Fermented Starter/Grower and occasional hard boiled eggs and dried meal worms. She has a slightly bald spot on her crop and it looks yellow like I can see through her skin. I did examine some other chicks with full crops and when I pulled their fluff/feathers aside I could see the yellow on their crops too. They are in a 12x10 stall with pine shavings and a little bit of straw. I have seen some of them eat the straw and I'm concerned that her crop might be full of straw. I will post photos in a the next post.

    I've heard you can massage the crop and give them bread soaked in olive oil.
