Chick with intestines out

I had my first egg on lockdown pip this morning & within a few hours I saw that it had died, when I opened up the egg the chick was fully formed with a little bit of yolk sack left & probably half it's intestines out. Is this common or was it am incubation error? The other eggs haven't pipped yet, they're silkies...thanks

We have had it happen a couple of times. It's always sad.

Nothing you did so don't feel guilty. This stuff happens. I do alot of reptile egg incubation from rare tortoises to lizards and I have seen all sorts of anomalies pop out. Still waiting for the first albino gila monster to emerge. . .
