Chick with sour crop but no symptons?

I suspect my 6 week old cockerel has sour crop (I think). I never experienced it though. I went through some internet searches last night and found to massage the chickens crop, which I did. I just want to know if their is anything else I could do, why he has no symptoms, and what caused it.

2 Days ago I let them free range for a couple minutes
They get their water cleaned
He eats a lot
His crop WAS mushy but his breathe didn't stink and I heard no sounds from the crop.. if that's suppose to happen?
They get fed chick GROWER and cracked corn once in a while

He is an Asian black and he is HUGE for a 6 month old, he is HALF the size of my 4-5 month old!

Ya I didn't think it could happen that young. Do you know of anything else I could do to help him, I'm not home right now so hopefully when I get home I can see if his crop is back to normal.
