Today I just checked on my chicks that I got yesterday from tractor supplies all there crops emptied except one. It was squishy so I mushed it around a bit and she spit out white liquid/slime. Is it sour crop?

How are you brooding the chicks - with a heat lamp or brooder plate?Today I just checked on my chicks that I got yesterday from tractor supplies all there crops emptied except one. It was squishy so I mushed it around a bit and she spit out white liquid/slime. Is it sour crop?
It has actually went down alot. I'm using a brooder plate. Her crop isnt very big theres just one part on her side that is bigger. How are you brooding the chicks - with a heat lamp or brooder plate?
Inside of the brooder photos would be good.
I would see to it that she's eating/drinking well and get a look at her poop.
Take care when manipulating a crop on such a tiny chick that she doesn't aspirate when mushing it around.
Alright! I did take out the food but not the water last time so I'll do it this timeSince you're using a brooder plate, the chicks should be sleeping all night. Take out the food/water tonight when they go to sleep around dusk, then check her crop first thing in the morning to see if it's emptied. Then put the food/water back.
