Can someone please tell me if there is any danger to my chickens if I use cedar or pine bedding? I once read that either cedar or pine would get rid of rats as well. Does anyone know anything about this?

whatever you do dont use cedar, it contains something thats bad for the birds. you can use pine shavings or straw as bedding. hay also contains something bad for chickens.

Chickens have sensitive respiratory systems. Since cedar has a strong odor, it's not recommended that you use it with chickens. Use pine shavings instead.
