Hello! We have a 2 year old hen. This morning I found her in the coop lying down and breathing very hard! I picked her up and her legs went wild. She seems like she has sour crop. Is there anything else she could have? Thank you!

I believe we need more details to help you. Does she have any respiratory symptoms such as runny nose or eyes, cough or sneeze, noisy breathing, or swelling around an eye? Why do you think it is sour crop. How does the crop feel?

Hello! Would these symptoms be caused by mites? She doesn't have a runny nose or eye. Her eyes aren't swollen either. I thought she had sour crop because she held her head towards the ceiling and was trying to swallow something like they do when they have sour crop. We gave her some yogurt and olive oil. She seemed to do better after that and hopped on the perch. Her droppings are very runny/watery. Thank you so much!
