Hey y’all I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the reddish gold on my chickens feathers mean anything in terms of breed or gender? Or just the product of being mixed? Thanks!

Its known as leakage. And when it specifically comes in on the wing bar its a male specific trait.

Thank you! I had a feeling because it’s on two of the birds I suspected of being male.

Any bird that develops it is a male. Its kind of a handy trait I some cases.

Thanks everyone! I was able to rehome the two I was sure were make but now I have two more I’m suspect of. They have higher combs and stand a bit taller. Both a slightly more vocal than the rest also. They’re almost four months.
