All, after pouring through these threads I'm still at a loss and am looking for spm advice. One of my hens had a hole pecked in the back of her head a few days ago. I immediately isolated her and treated her for infection and dressed and cleaned the wound. The wind was to the skull, but no damage to bone was done.
She's still inside and is not eating. It appears as if her crop has swollen with air. I've 'burped' her several times and tried massaging the crop to see if there's any obstruction. There's just nothing in there at all. Her stools still look normal as well. As soon as I burp her, the crop just seems to swell back up with air in a matter of minutes. I've tried giving her sugar free yogurt and water with ACV added. Please advise.

I'm not sure that I can answer your questions, but whenever a chicken or bird is injured, there are air sacs throughout the body that can be damaged and make leak air under the skin. It looks like a balloon, and the air can sometimes be removed with an 18 gauge needle. That may not be her problem if it is the crop. Is she alert and able to stand and walk? I have had several chickens injured by pecking on top of the head, and they have all recovered, but yours sounds pretty ill if not eating or drinking. Here is some info about leaking air sacs:
