Chicken diaper

i got a very nice new chicken diaper for my bantams. Every time I put it on them perfectly they started stumbling, falling, somersaulting, and tripping. How come? It’s very painful to watch

Because they don't like it when it is on because they are not made for wearing diapers. The diaper obstructs their natural movement. So they stumble, fall and trip.
If it is painfull to watch for you; it is probably painfull for them to wear. If it is not medically needed; stop putting them on.

I finally tried it on my rooster and he wears it great
