I have a garlic patch...I know chickens arnt suppose to eat garlic, but they are going crazy over the garlic shoot , Should I let them eat it?

Also the scratch I give them turned into..plants lol now I grow my own scratch. The chicken enjoys the seeds AND the plant it produces. I thought that was pretty cool [IMG]

cool idea on the scratch , think I might try that ~ :-D

but I wouldn't let your hens eat garlic unless you are planning on making only garlic-y flavored items with the eggs.
I'd hate to accidently put eggs tinted with garlic into a cake, for instance, lol ~:-D

Well, they're not necessarily eating the garlic, just the green stuff [IMG]

Have you tasted the green stuff? It's pretty garlicky. If you are growing stiff-neck, try the scapes in a stir-fry.

If they're laying it could affect the taste of their eggs.
