We have pigs and chickens.

Right now the pigs get our leftover scraps, a scoop of swine feed, a scoop of Brewers grain, half a loaf of bread, 4-6 raw eggs, peanut grind 1/2 scoop, and 1/2 scoop of corn.

My chickens get two scoops of Brewers grain, 1/4 cup of corn just for fun, 1/2 loaf of bread for fun, veggie/fruit scraps, and laying crumbles.

They also free range. We have baby chicks and ducks that get starter/grower and a small amount of Brewers grain.

I am looking for ways to extend our feed. Any ideas? I have brown rice that I also feed once or every 2 weeks. Nobody is looking malnourished at all. Just trying to give us a leeway. The laying bag seems to go once every 1-2 weeks. Most seems wasted of course.

How many chickens are you feeding? If you ferment your feed, it will go further b/c of the probiotics in the feed. You could do so for your pigs as well. Fermenting the feed eliminates all waste from the bag of feed, and b/c the birds can better utilize the nutrients in the feed, they won't eat as much.
