I wish I had gotten pics, but was too busy cracking up laughing to go get the camera.
I had mentioned to my daughter that supposedly chickens love warm oatmeal, so we made them a tub of it, and took it out.
At first, all the chickens looked at it like it was an alien or something, but finally Abe (my favorite!), decided to peck at the strange substance. Well, once he tasted it, he started gobbling it like crazy. Then the other two roos decided they better come see what was up, and stuck their beaks in. It was a feeding frenzy! Buttercup, our littlest chicken, kept trying to squeeze in around the bowl to see what was so interesting, but the boys wouldn't let her in, so she started pecking at the bits that were hitting the ground, then decided she was getting some of that straight from the source. She pushed her way in, so then there were 4 chickens, eating as fast as they could, with oatmeal dribbling out of their beaks and being flung all over the place. Poppy, the other girl, still wasn't interested in anything but cleaning up the mess the others were making all over the ground and themselves. She was being the groomer chicken, and getting all the bits stuck all over the other chickens from all the crazy flinging.
Next time we make them oatmeal, the camera is SO coming out with me!
