My local farm supply has 4 different brands of layer pellets but nothing else but medicated chick crumbles. My chicks are 10 weeks old and I really don't want to feed them the high protein starter and feeding them the high calcium layer pellets is a no-no. The feed store has turkey finisher. It is 16% protein with no extra calcium. What could be the difference between turkey finisher and chicken grower? Do they add something into turkey feed that chickens couldn't eat?

Quote:If you have access to a TSC store, they sell a chick starter/grower for chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, pheasant and chukar. It's 16%. Their turkey finisher is 15%. I don't see that there would be a problem.
