We have 8 Australorps and 1 buff Orphington. We were given an Asian Blue hen 6 months ago. All the chickens are full grown and all hens. The Asian Blue is pretty wild and other chickens have always picked on her. The Asian Blue had some feathers on her back missing when we got her. At one point, most of her feathers grew back, but now her entire back is void of feathers with some tail feather missing. Could she have lice or it it just the other chickens pulling out her feathers because they don't like her?

More than likely she is being feather picked. When new feathers start to grow in, they are very tempting to pull out snd eat. You can try some BluKote spray, a blue ye that stains but fades after a few weeks,, but it needs to be reapplied every 2-3 days. Other products include Nustock, a bad tasting cream made from sulfur and pine oil, and other antipick lotions. A hen apron or saddle might slso help.

How old is she? Some of my hens have started molting again around their 3rd or 4th year.
