I am wanting to build a simple chicken house for my nine banties and would like some ideas! They will free range during the day, so it won't need a run.

    Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

With bantams you should have 3 square feet per bird in the coop. With 9 bantams, that would be a 27-square-foot coop. A coop 5 feet by 5 feet would be 25 square feet. You probably could do that.

It is probably still a good idea to have a run in case you need to leave the chickens locked up while you are gone.

Here is the page on this website with coop designs.

Thanks for your reply! My neighbor takes care of my chickens while I am away!
