Not inside a coop 3 feet tall.
Figure the heat lamp hangs about a foot from ceiling. I bet you could melt marshmallows 6 inches from the floor with a 250 watt heat lamp at full power.
If you can't get a dimmer switch, i would use a 100 watt incandescent bulb or a 72 watt halogen bulb. View attachment 2727045

A Red bulb is preferred, but not necessary. GC

I think I’ll just bring them in when it’s in the 40s at night for this week. Just to make it a little easier

No heat lamp?

As you've seen from comments, we all do things differently. For me, 4 week olds are off heat (down to mid 40s) and integrated with the flock. Many people take things slower. Do what feels comfortable for you.

IMO they don't need a heat lamp at all anymore, anywhere. It's 70 in the garage right?
