PLEASE HELP

My baby is just laying on the ice, I put her in the coop and she has no sense of balance and just fell right over. she ate some mealworms. she has not laid all winter long... any ideas how to save and help her????

Only thing I can suggest is bring her into your home, and place her in a box, or pet carrier on soft bedding and comfort her. Provide her water and TLC.

Quote: Hi

I agree, bring her in. Have you any Epsom salts? Put half a cup full in warm water and soak her bottom for 10 mins or so. Cuddle her dry with a soft towel.
Try feeding her natural yogurt and olive oil with a syringe. Also some water.

Keep her inside in a dry warm place.

Hope this works

Welcome to BYC!

Bring her inside and give her eggs and tuna and drop water in her beak with a 3cc syringe.I would also put poultry vitamins in her water.Do not give her a bath it is terrible for a sick chicken.

Epsom salts can help if a hen is injured or is egg bound but in this case i dont think she has any of those conditions. You can ask some (Experts) and they will tell you the same thing.Just don't give a sick chicken a bath.
