We were held up getting home one night and after a long journey home I was rather desperate and headed off to the outdoor toilet as soon as we pulled up. Well I nearly wet myself on the spot because peering out at me was a very bedraggled chook! She'd obviously gotten confused by not being herded in to bed that night and tried roosting somewhere else and fallen in. I didn't stop to take a photo but it would have been priceless.

I grabbed a towel and extracted her and took her inside for the night. I've now made a point of keeping that door firmly shut and leaving the roost door open if we go out in the afternoon.

You're a very nice mum! I might have just left her there... or at least been laughing too hard to retrieve her! [IMG]

Does she stink? Poor little girl.

At our house she would have earned the nick name "Henny the Pooh".

So does that make her a "POOLET" instead of a pullet then?
