Yellow jackets are wasps, they can be aggressive(chase you) and give nasty stings.
The nest in the ground, I get at least one every year in a place where it has to be deal with.
I just realized this happened 'a few weeks ago'...
...so the only residual affect is dealing with the fearmonger?
