Hello again!
I've just started my chickens medicine for gapeworms. She's pretty pitiful and hasn't been eating or drinking for about 5 days. I've been giving her close to a cup of a water a day through a syringe to keep her hydrated.
I was wondering if I could give her pediasure to help her until she feels well enough to eat?

Thank you!!

I would give her poultry electrolytes with vitamins in her water. Fluids are more important than food at first. The Pediasure may be too rich or sugary for her. You can water down her feed and add egg or plain yogurt for protein and probiotics. Tube feeding can be performed with baby bird feed preparations. You might google "go team tube feeding" for a good article by casportpony.

What I always did was this

Wet mash probiotic for Ecoli in gut
for what ever is infecting your chickens
It is good for all the chickens year round

now you have a defficent gut problem with the E.coli
and it needs to have the Vitamin E put in the wet mash probiotic to help the E.coli gut problem
do this
now the
natural probiotic recipe is this:
1 qt of dry crumbles
2 qts of milk, sweet, sour, or buttermilk or a mixture of all or some
1/4 cup of non flavored yoguart ( no artificial sweetmer)
mix good
NOW THE IMPORTANT INGRIEDIENT FOR EACH CHICK FED
and add 1- 400 mg of Vit E by cutting the end off the vit E capsule for each chick fed this wet mash
putting it in the wet mash
this for each chicken your treating
so for each chicken use 2 tsp of mixture and 1-400 mg of Vit E
MIX VITAMINS IN MASH GOOD
twice a day for them till the manure is solid
and feed each
chicken 2 tbsp full and what they will clean up in 20-30 minutes
then clean wet feeders and restock dry crumbles
do this twice a day for a week
till the chickens manure is right
then quit the Vit E make just the wet mash probiotic
then once a week for life
