I have a hen who is laying what looks like balls of fat
and no egg any Ideas what this is?
Could be a soft-shelled egg, you should post again in the Egglaying forum. Welcome to BYC!
The first time I found it It looked like a long piece of fat and today just a small ball of fat
Does is look like an egg white without a shell? I can't picture it, I'm sorry.
I have heard of chickens laying shell-less eggs. I could imagine them looking pretty funky.
If you search 'Lash Egg' on the internet; does it looking anything like that?
Did your hen just start laying? Sometimes they lay weird stuff when they are just starting out.
Hello and Welcome To BYC! X3, it could be a Lash egg or the remains of a shell less egg, here are some links to Lash eggs etc to check out https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/473989/weird-egg-weird-clump-lash-graphic-pics
