    Hi

My bantam hen is losing its feathers rapidly. Is this just normal moulting?

    I have attached pictures...

    Thanks in advance

Yes that looks like normal molting. You can see the new feathers growing in in your pictures. The first molt can occur at 16-18 months, and yearly thereafter. Any huge stress can also throw them into a molt.

How old is she? Looks like normal molting to me.

Thanks for replies. She would be about 16-18 months old so it must be moulting. Sorry for the bother as I am a complete newbie. Thanks!

Don't worry about seeming like a newbie-- the first molt is always a bit worrying and surprising! [IMG]
