We have three Banty mix roosters that for some reason were born with five toes instead of the normal four, we allow these birds to free range. Today we noticed that one of them was walking funny and was obviously injured. When we caught him his foot was bleeding and we noticed his extra toe on one of his feet was missing. We have no idea what happened to him. We have runs that we sometimes leave a rooster and hen in when we want fertilized eggs, we don't normally let our hens and roos ru together, and we put him in one of those by himself. The bleeding has stopped, and he can't walk on that foot right now. Do I need to do anything special for his foot or will it heal on it's own? Do you think that once it heals he will be able to walk correctly?

If it were me, I'd put neosporin on it and bandage it.
