Chicken molting in the middle of winter?

I noticed that one of my chickens has just started molting. She's not quite a year old yet, so she never molted in the fall. But now it's the middle of winter, freezing cold out, and now she's starting to molt? I've never had this happen before. Why would she be molting now, and is this normal?

Sometimes birds molt off schedule. A little extra protein in her diet can help with new feather growth.

Alright, good to know it's nothing bad. I'll make sure she gets some extra protein. She usually doesn't get many treats, because the older girls take most of it, so I'll have to sneak her some, lol. Thank you!
