Chicken newbie

Greetings from Gresham, Oregon. My wife and I are new to chickens. My family (we have two young children) will be getting our first ever baby chicks tomorrow. We've been perusing this website for a couple of years now, and reading every book from the library we can get our hands on to gain some knowledge and insight to help us assess whether getting our own chickens was something we really wanted to endeavor to do. With our growing interest in urban homesteading and the moral support of a new friend who is an experienced chicken keeper, we decided to give it a shot. Looking forward to becoming a part of the backyard chickens community, and I'm really excited to get our baby chicks tomorrow (and a little nervous).
