Chicken nipple watering systems

I have chicks arriving in about 6 weeks, and am in full swing with the exact design and systems that will be used for the coop and run. I would really love to use a nipple watering system with pvc piping so that I can run one side of the pipe into the coop and have the other in the run (I plan to use a "y" split so that they can be at the needed heights, since the coop will be elevated), but I am wondering how people keep these from freezing. Unfortunately I do not have an exterior electrical outlet on the back side of my house, which is where the coop will be, so I don't really have a way to get power to it (since it will also be near the back of the property to minimize disturbing my neighbors, and that is 75 ft or so from the back patio). I live in the St. Louis area, so we don't get excessively cold, but it certainly does get below freezing and I am wondering what all of you do to deal with this. Thank you so much in advance for your input. :)
