Is there anyway to get some hens to be quiet because my chickens live in my backyard and our houses are pretty close and they are being incredibly noisy?

I don't think there is. But just think, that's a lot less annoying than a barking dog. And if you have them legally (or not, now that I think of it), just soften up any would-be complainers with some eggs [IMG]

Nope, that is the egg song. They have lots of noises, and they vary among individuals, too. I have an EE that you'd swear was a goose if you weren't looking at her. I have others I rarely hear a gentle cluck out of.

I've shh'd mine which has worked temporarily. I just count on other noises (kids, dogs, etc.) being loud enough to drown out my girls.
