I bought some baby chickens in december. Is there anything I can do to encourage laying? What else should I know about them?

It takes forever when your watching for the first egg... Just make sure they get good nutritious feed, and be sure they have a calcium supplement available. What kind are they?

and they will lay when they are ready.

The people on this forum are not gonna bite on "what should I know." You have 6 mo. old (grown) chickens!!!! What don't you know?

Quote:First off, what breeds do you have? Some lay early and some mature later. At 6 months, you are hoping for a lot.

Fresh air, water and feed...let nature do the rest.
