One of mine did this last night right before I fired ours up for burgers. I told her, as I've had no eggs from her yet, she best not press her luck!

Except the solid black one and the RIR/Buff Orp cross girl standing on the ground behind the grill , these are my original flock, going on two years old now and all molting, some not prettily, I might add. Some are done, some are in the middle of ugliness and a couple have barely started. They are all really great layers and healthy girls. The Buff Orp on the highest back corner of the grill is my only broody ever, so far. A couple of my younger ones have threatened, but haven't followed through with it yet. They have the run of the place most of every day unless its bad weather or I'm not home. They're all very special to me, even the kooky ones.

    Cyn,

Email me the biggest / clearest version of that first one! I need to crop it and use it on the site.

    Too perfect!

I'll try! It was so dark today and my camera doesn't have a low-light setting, so that's partly why it looks that way. Ill see if I can lighten/clear it up.
