Was the chicken itself upright almost like a person, or did it just simply have long legs?

Langshans have long legs, but a normal body posture.

Malays, Shamos, Thais, and a few other Oriental Gamefowl are upright birds with long legs. Like this guy:

I think I've just decided that I like the "freaks" of the chicken world....

Also could be Modern Game if it's a bantam.

Quote:You and me both. [IMG] It's gotta be weird in body, long in legs, have no tail, have a crest, have a huge V comb, or something else just odd. Although for some reason silkied feathering just isn't in my book.

Probably because when it rains silkied birds don't fare so well... [IMG] OP, do you know what the parent birds looked like?

It depends. If it's a little bantam it's most likely a Modern Game. If it's larger then I'd say a Malay or Shamo.
