My roo has picked the feathers off of one of my hens back - only the down remains; a second hen is also showing signs of feather loss but not as much as the other - yet. I've ordered chicken saddles that should be in any day. I'm wondering if the saddle will be a problem in cold weather because I don't see how she can ruffle her feathers for warmth. The weather forecast is for low 20s. Also, will it be a problem if she can't take a dust bath? I would really appreciate knowing how the saddles will affect my hens. Thanks.

I don't think the saddles will be a problem. Just make sure they can get feathers over their toes at night when they roost!
