Chicken saddles?

Has anyone created a homemade chicken saddle before? If so I would love to get the pattern and make it for one of my hens whose back is raw and sore from mating.

I was thinking about just ordering one from amazon but they are pretty expensive and it would take so long for something like that to get here.

Okay I finished it!! It only took me three hours.

Here are the pictures (I actually decided to try sewing the edges, I tried. )

My sewing skills aren't excellent but I'm looking for a pattern as we speak.

I've never needed one ( only gals) but researched for a friend....there are quite a number of free patterns you can locate in a google search and many don't require sewing skills.

If you stumble across the duct tape one, I wouldn't use that.
But if you have an old pair of jeans, you can cut one out and make slits for wings and use it now....if you can sew even better.
