    How many different sayings are there that are said in everyday life about chickens?

    1: The chickens always come home to roost.
    2: Don't count your chickens until they hatch.
    3: There is a pecking order.
    4: She rules the roost.
    5: As protective as a mother hen.

    Mad as a setting hen.

    Mad as a wet hen. (don't know where this one came from, my hens don't mind being wet at all LOL)

    running around like a chicken with its head cut off. (terrible.. I know but my grandmother used to say it all the time)
