Chicken Setting Habits

Twice now Ive had a chicken setting on eggs and be joined by another hen, even after hatching they seem to raise and protect the babies together.

Some hens share a communal nest, hatch well and raise the chicks together. Others argue over the eggs, have a poor hatch rate, and fight over and injure the chicks. Generally it is best to seclude broody hens from interference from others.
