I wasn't really sure where to put this, can move it if it's not in the right spot.

Anyway, I went on YouTube to look up some videos on coop building but before I could even do that, YouTube suggested a video to me, on someone installing a chicken swing.

This is the video for those wondering.

I personally LOVE this video and especially love their coop and run set up. It's so gorgeous and I'm honestly envious. I also love how much their BO seems to enjoy it.

I especially love how much entertainment they have for their chickens, the ladder/roost thing, the stump, the dust bathing bucket, the swing, the watermelon, etc. Love love love it.

    Soooo..

I am now thinking of doing something similar for my birds.

Mine are in a barely too small space plus very bored so results in occasional fighting. I did put in a large branch through the fence in one corner and they LOVE roosting on it but haven't put anything else in. I think I will try some of these. However I am also going to be building a new run and coop in the spring so I will try to implement these ideas in the run too, maybe even more so.

So I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has done anything similar?

Also, somewhat irrelevant I guess cause it's such a nice video especially near the end (watch the whole thing) but I personally don't really find it very funny the roo attacking the guy.... but at least he settled down after a few times, if he persisted I don't think he could stay.

    Anyhow, entertainment ideas?

I put a "swing" in my coop and they didn't use it so I removed it. I also had some bells and other, caged bird things in the coop and you could hear the chickens hit the bells every now and then. Just had some stuff that was going to go into a garage sale for a parrot and thought hell the chickens might like it. Multiple places to roost was a big plus for my girls!

I hope mine like the swing :( but oh the parrot toys idea is a great idea! And I'll definitely have to add more places to roost :)

You could take plastic bottle and make a hole in it just big enough for treats. The hens kick and peck the bottle around to get the reward. There's similar toys for cats but not sure what it's called.

Wow! How do they have live grass in the run?

Oh that's a brilliant idea! I might have to try that! I had a bottle in there at one point with nothing in it and they were scared of it. Hahah Maybe with treats they wouldn't be!

And I know right!? Especially with that many birds! It's very impressive!

Ours like folded toilet paper roll tubes with seeds in. They throw the cardboard around and pull it to bits, and then we get a new tube.
