DH started our chicken tractor in March. It is based off one of the Fordham arcs, just more simplified.

They are using the little shelf to jump up to the perches/nest just fine.

I may replace the chicken wire with hardware cloth but right now they are in the main coop at night.

And now that the chicks are too big for the brooder, Strawberry and Rosie live in their new home, helping make sure we have a good garden this summer!

Thanks for looking!

Great job, raindrop!

If the girls will reside in the tractor overnight, you might want to do a harware cloth skirt on the ground around the perimeter as fool-proofing against predators. We've had no digging pred problems using this method. We secure the wire to the ground with garden staples/stakes and have cut up wire clothes hangers to make our own stakes for free.

You already brought up the hardware cloth "make-over" so I'll be quiet now!
