Accident Involving Chicken Truck Causes Quite a Mess

A Tyson tractor trailer and a truck crashed in Fayetteville just before the lunch rush hour scattering chickens everywhere.
It happened on 6th Street and Old Farmington Road before noon.
The accident closed all but one lane of traffic.
A recovery team gathered and cleaned up 1,100 cornish hens tossed across the road.
No word yet from police on what caused the accident, but all roads have been reopened.

I would love to have taken in some fo the chickens that made it, but I can't get any more info on it.

There was a link for the actual newscast and they showed live birds- they looked so stressed!

I'd imagine they just took them on to the processor or wherever they were headed. I would like to think they gave the chickens time to recover from the trauma before processing them - wouldn't the meat be all bruised?

I contacted the newspaper but haven't heard from them, I am going to contact animal control too though.
