We just got our first batch ever of baby chicks yesterday. DH laughed at me when I mentioned Chicken TV a few months ago. As of today, he officially understands what an entertainment Chicken TV can be! LOL Our brooder is set up in the living room (for now) and it's so cute watching them flapping and jumping around. I put in a piece of 2x4 and they're so cute when they flap their wings to try and get up on it. Some are MUCH better than others but either way, it's adorable. Their wing feathers are starting to come in really well. I'm estimating they were about 3-4 days old by the time we got them. 7 from the "Red Pullet" bin and 6 from the straight run "Buff Orpington" bin. I'm fairly certain 6 of the 7 from the red pullet bin are Golden Comet's. They have the typical "chipmunk stripes" across their backs. Not sure about the other one. It's pretty much solid on it's back. It's funny how getting chickens was "my" goal. But now that we have them, the ones that came out of the TSC "Red Pullet" bin are "his" chickens, lol~!
