Chicken with hernia?

    My parents just bought this chicken today so I'm not sure on the type of food it was given. But just a while ago, we noticed this fluid looking thing on its chest. Anyone know what it might be?

    Ummmm... looks like an infected crop full of pus. Is she eating?

    Okay push in on it. Does it feel like its going into a small hole. That means a hernia.

    That is one big crop! Does it smell bad? See if it empties overnight. If not then something is wrong.

    Be sure to check her crop first thing in the morning to check if her crop has gone down. You may need to place her in a dog crate with water, but no food if the crop still has food in it. If the crop is puffy, and there is a bad or sour odor, it may be sour crop. Here is another good thread to tell what you are dealing with, and instructions on making a crop bra:
