I recently found one of my California White pullets (she is about 5 months old and laying) with a strange lump on her beak. I haven't had the time to look at it much, but it appears to be the same color as the rest of the beak with a very small scab in the middle. She is acting normal (eating, drinking, etc.), and the growth does not seem to bother her when I touch it. I have been browsing the internet for a long while and have found no answers so far. This is the first time I have seen something like this in any of my birds, and I have not noticed it on any of her flockmates.
Does anyone have any insight on what this is and how it should be treated? Thanks!
(Will try to post picture tomorrow.)
