Hello BYC! I usually try not to make a post about the problems I have especially if something like this has happened before with someone in the past but I couldn't dig anything up so I thought maybe someone has had this kind of problem happen before and worked a way through it and had advice or anything that could help.. So we have 3 BOs and 3 BRs. When we went out to replenish their water, food, and give them snacks we had a buff that was on the ground and a bloody mess on her head. Nothing else seemed to be bad. While we were in there, the bigger BR that we have just walked up to her and started pecking her, I was pretty furious about it, so we quickly set up a cage usually used for our dog. (Pretty good sized) The injured BO has a pretty injured eye, not sure if the eye itself is damaged but it's only slightly opened, more of a slit. (It's been about 3 days now) We tried cleaning up the blood but it was a little hard as it was dry, and now areas on her face are more of a black color. We have put neosporin on the areas that seem to have been affected both yesterday and today. However, she is not standing or walking. Today we picked her out and took her out of the pin and set her on the grass, hoping that she would stand up or maybe want to run, but no, she just laid there. We picked her up again and felt her legs and one leg was fine but when we slowly went to move the other one she squawked and tucked it. So we slowly edged it out and tried to feel around it, moved it around, pulled a tad bit on it to see what her reaction would be and she didn't really react besides that her leg was really shaking. I don't know if it was out of place and we may have put it back in but from what we felt, nothing seemed 'out of place'. What we think happened was that she got stuck somewhere, probably wedged under their fencing and the BRs pretty much took advantage, but then she probably pulled something out of place getting out. I can't imagine her hurting her leg so bad that she can't move in a fight with another, nobody else is hurt besides one of the smaller BRs that kept stretching one wing out which we think the BOs retaliated for. Is there anything that we can do to help her get better, does it get better, or even how long does a hurt leg usually take to get better? I don't want to put her down, she is completely alert. We give them grapes as snacks and I gave her some and she was excited, started attacking them and clucking about it. I just don't know what to do to help her get better if she will. She can't stay in the separate cage forever. Any help or advice to this problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton for taking the time to look at my post. If pictures of both legs would help I can get some tomorrow as it is starting to get dark out now.
