Chickenade?

I give electrolytes but I would not use Gatorade it is way to high in sugar and salt. Just go out and get a good electrolyte mix that is designed with poultry in mind like;

Chris

Is it really necessary or more for when they are sick or a very hot and humid day?

No, its not necessary. A lot of people use in time of stress hot/ humid days, sick, showing, molting and breeding I hit my birds at least once a week but most of the time it is 5 times a week in the summer. I fell that i get a better hatch rate and heather chicks from my breeders when there on a Breeder Solution and a Vitamins/ Electrolytes mix.
I my self like to use a Breeder Solution twice a week http://www.twincitypoultrysupplies....ain_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=597 and AgriLabs Poultry Vitamins, Electrolytes & Probiotics up to 5 days a week.

Coconut water is an excellent, natural electrolite. But I'm thinking that might be expensive for chickens....
