Chickens and buildings

Since I have noticed this it is driving me a bit nutty. Why when I pull my screen down to go up to the top of a page I see a pair of white chickens and buildings for a split second, and than they vanish. You can just see the chicken legs in my screen shot under my account. Why don't they stay? Is it just my kindle?

I think it's normal, the site has a floating navigation bar, but the bottom part of it isn't floating, so when the top of the navigation bar hits the top of your browser window, the bottom part of the bar which isn't floating disappears. We're going to be upgrading the site soon, and I don't think that the bottom portion of the navigation bar disappears even if only the top part is set to floating on the new version.

But why does it disappear on a smaller device no matter which way I hold it?
