Hi! So I have a 8 year old Rhode Island Red Chicken (Hen) and she is really healthy, but is a little slow and cannot see the best, and... Well just basically imagine and grandma as a chicken! She has a ton of wrinkles and everything, really smart too! But I would like to know, what is the average age that a chicken.. You know..Um..Well--WHAT IS THE AVERAGE LIFE SPAN OF A REGULAR BACKYARD CHICKEN???

Of a backyard chicken, its usually 4-5 years. Some, like yours, enjoy a nice long life. I think the oldest chicken on record lived over 15 years.
